Kingdom: Environment

This section includes everything that is outside of the source code but is still critical to the security of the product that is being created. Because the issues covered by this kingdom are not directly related to source code, we separated it from the rest of the kingdoms.

Credential Management: Default Credentials

Abstract
Failure to remove default credentials can lead to severe system compromise.
Explanation
The installation and setup for some applications establish a set of default credentials that can expose restricted interfaces of the application to unauthorized users. Often these default credentials are well known to the attackers. Such installations also face a high risk of compromise from login brute force attacks.
