Software security is not security software. Here we're concerned with topics like authentication, access control, confidentiality, cryptography, and privilege management.

Password Management: Weak Password Policy

Abstract
Weak passwords can be easily guessed and are an easy target for brute force attacks. This can lead to an authentication system failure and compromise system security.
Explanation
Authentication is an important aspect of security. The reliability of the authentication process depends on the security and strength of the login credentials. Password policies that ensure users create strong passwords are therefore crucial to deploying secure websites. Password strength is a measure of the effectiveness it provides in resisting guessing and brute force attacks. Some of the parameters that help define the password strength include password characteristics such as password length, complexity and randomness.
