Weak Cryptographic Hash

Abstract
Los valores de hash criptográficos débiles no pueden garantizar la integridad de los datos y no deberían utilizarse en contextos críticos de seguridad.
Explanation
MD2, MD4, MD5, RIPEMD-160 y SHA-1 son los algoritmos de valores de hash criptográficos conocidos que suelen utilizarse para comprobar la integridad de los mensajes y otros datos. Sin embargo, puesto que avances recientes en el criptoanálisis han descubierto puntos débiles en ambos algoritmos, ya no deberían utilizarse en contextos críticos de seguridad.

Hay disponibles diversas técnicas muy eficaces para cancelar los valores de hash MD5 y RIPEMD, por lo que no se debería confiar la seguridad a esos algoritmos. En el caso de SHA-1, las técnicas actuales todavía requieren una cantidad significativa de capacidad computacional y son más difíciles de implementar. Sin embargo, los usuarios malintencionados han encontrado el talón de Aquiles del algoritmo, y las técnicas para romperlo darán lugar con toda probabilidad al descubrimiento de ataques aún más rápidos.

MD2, MD4, MD5, RIPEMD-160 y SHA-1 son los algoritmos de valores de hash criptográficos conocidos que suelen utilizarse para comprobar la integridad de los mensajes y otros datos. Sin embargo, puesto que avances recientes en el criptoanálisis han descubierto puntos débiles en ambos algoritmos, ya no deberían utilizarse en contextos críticos de seguridad.

Hay disponibles diversas técnicas muy eficaces para cancelar los valores de hash MD5 y RIPEMD, por lo que no se debería confiar la seguridad a esos algoritmos. En el caso de SHA-1, las técnicas actuales todavía requieren una cantidad significativa de capacidad computacional y son más difíciles de implementar. Sin embargo, los usuarios malintencionados han encontrado el talón de Aquiles del algoritmo, y las técnicas para romperlo darán lugar con toda probabilidad al descubrimiento de ataques aún más rápidos.

Explanation
MD2, MD4, MD5, RIPEMD-160 y SHA-1 son los algoritmos de hashes criptográficos conocidos que suelen utilizarse para comprobar la integridad de los mensajes y otros datos. Sin embargo, como la investigación reciente de criptoanálisis ha revelado debilidades fundamentales en estos algoritmos, ya no deberían usarse en contextos esenciales para la seguridad.

Las técnicas efectivas para romper los hashes MD y RIPEMD están ampliamente disponibles, por lo que no se debe confiar en esos algoritmos para la seguridad. En el caso de SHA-1, las técnicas actuales todavía requieren una cantidad significativa de capacidad computacional y son más difíciles de implementar.
