Um algoritmo de assinatura criptográfica, que em outras circunstâncias seria forte, poderá se tornar significativamente mais vulnerável a ataques de força bruta se um tamanho de chave insuficiente for utilizado.

As diretrizes de criptografia atuais sugerem que um comprimento de chave de pelo menos 2048 bits deva ser usado com os algoritmos RSA e DSA.
